 2007 Hunting Season
"Waterfowl, small game, pigs and deer. They are all plentiful within the scenic beauty of ORA Station. I have been fortunate enough to shoot during the duck shooting opening weekend for the past 12 years. There is great stalking over hundreds of duck holding dams and the twilight action results in red hot barrels. Night shooting for small game, predominantly hares and rabbits presents more full on action. Wild pigs are plentiful and I also shot my first deer on the property. For a varied, exciting shooting experience ORA Station provides it all amongst some of New Zealand's most picturesque countryside. Good shooting!

"What a great hunting experience I had when at Glen Ora, plenty of animals to view and hunt in their natural environment. The hunting experience of Tim and the kind hospitality provided by Frecks made my time with them extremely enjoyable. The highlight being the hunting of a 12 point Stag - an experience that i may never enjoy again. Thanks enormously Tim and Frecks."

2008 Hunting Season
I'm a 60 year old born & raised on a ranch in Northern California & have been actively hunting since I was 10 years.  My 50 years of hunting has taken me all over the US & Canada but my best TOTAL experience was at Glenora Hunting, in New Zealand.
The hunting was mostly spot & stock with some bugling (roaring) which is the same as the North American elk hunting.  Good guides are a key to an excellent hunt & the ones at Glenora were top notch.  We saw a large number of animals & would've settled for a smaller prey had it not been for the knowledgeable guides who encouraged us to be patient that there were bigger & better targets out there to be had. There aren't too many places out there that give that extra effort it takes to harvest a good trophy, but Glenora does and their attention to detail doesn't end there.
Family style dining & lodging arrangements makes you feel right at home.  When coupled with the great spirits & wonderful stories the outgoing, friendly & accommodating Glenora staff makes the hunting experience/destination hard to top & even harder to leave.  I would give the Glenora Lodge a "12" on a 1-10 scale.  I would (and do) highly recommend Glenora Hunting Adventures.

2009 Hunting Season                                                                                                   I would like to thank you all for a great weekend this past weekend. It was fantastic, the quality of the hunting, the animals & the lodge and food was second to none.  I have hunted Africa 4 times & the US and this is probly the best hunting i've ever enjoyed. A special thanks to Phil, his knowledge of hunting & the animals really added to the hunt and the experience. I learnt some great tricks from him and I'm sure I will use it often. I will definatly recommend you to my mates & I will be back some time for a ram hunt. (Hopefully soon)

Firstly, many thanks for a great couple of days!
Arrived at the Homestead, to a very warm welcome. from both Tim & Frecks.  Headed off for the big evening hunt in in Polaris Ranger.  Sighted 2 large stags very early in the evening, but they headed off into the bush, this really got the adrenalin pumping. Tim & I glassed the clearings using the wind in our favour, 3 large stags feeding at their leisure moving slowly across the basin were our targets.  Tim worked out the game plan & we stalked down thru the bush to the valley floor. We had to get past 1 large stag to get into position for a shot at the Glenora Monster!, two shots bought the stag down from a 148m shot, it wasn't until I got up close I realized the size!!!  It was the biggest stag, I personally has ever seen, let alone shot. Took us a while to get it loaded and headed home.  IN SUMMARY - It was the most memorable hunting adventure & you were made to feel welcome from the moment you arrived.  Many thanks Frecks for the tasty meals, Tim's experience made the hunting trip informative, successful in a safe environment and I also picked up some new skills.  I have no hesitation recommending the Glenora Hunting Adventure.

Just a quick note to thank you for the two days hunting trip Kerry & I had at Glenora last week.  We really enjoyed meeting you both & visiting your lovely farm homestead.  Arriving at Glenora for us city folk is definitely like being in another world & it was a great feeling.  The hunting cabin by the lake was very comfortable & almost luxurious by hunting standards. We were very impressed that Frecks came out to make us lunch!
Tim is an excellent guide & we appreciated being able to share his knowledge of deer & of hunting.  We liked his method of hunting so we could get an accurate shot at our undisturbed animals.  We were amazed where the Polaris vehicle could go, although having a skilled driver obviously helps.  Retrieving those big red stags would have been hard work without it.

We are looking forward to visiting you again for the 2011 'ROAR'.
